Colorado Employers can still fire recreational pot smokers for legal use for failing a drug test

January 1st, 2014 marks Colorado as the first state to sell marijuana as a recreational drug.  During all the excitement people didn’t notice to fine print in Amendment 64, which says, “affect the ability of employers to have policies restricting the use of marijuana by employees,”. This means  even though cannabis is legal now, the new law still provides no protection for work place drug testing when drug test comes back positive for marijuana. I also expect to see more drug testing to occur on Colorado now.
